About the project | ClearGage rebrand
A full visual design system rehall for ClearGage
I was hired on at ClearGage as the first designer they had ever had! This meant that I was working with a 10 year old design system (if you could call it that!) and very little understanding for what my role would actually be. It became clear that a fresh skin and updated website would be a good place to start. This was a rather quick project as the compnay did not want to spend very much time on this much needed face lift.

Logo
Old Vs. New | It’s amazing what a typeface and some kerning can achieve.
Redesigning a logo can breathe life into a brand, even with small changes like typeface and kerning. Choosing the right typeface adds personality and readability, while fine-tuning the kerning brings balance. These adjustments align a logo with the brand's vision and resonate with audiences.

Color palette
Professional but approachable | Using color to set mood and tone.
This color palette effortlessly combines professionalism and approachability, making it an ideal choice for various design applications. The soft off-white shade (#EFF1F4) exudes sophistication, while the vibrant cyan hue (#00ACCD) injects a refreshing and invigorating element. Adding depth and elegance to the palette, the navy blue tone (#3167B2) commands attention. Lastly, the warm and inviting #ECBA56 shade contributes a touch of personality to the overall aesthetic. With its versatility, this color palette was an ideal choice for ClearGage.

Typography
Professional but approachable | Using type to set mood and tone.
When rebranding a company, choosing the right typeface is crucial for establishing an effective brand identity. The Ubuntu typeface is an excellent choice, known for its elegance, versatility, and modernity. Its clean lines and friendly curves create a professional and approachable image suitable for various industries. Moreover, Ubuntu's open-source nature aligns with the trend of transparency and inclusivity in business. By using the Ubuntu typeface in a company rebrand, a business can create a contemporary and welcoming image that stays true to its core values.

Iconography
Variable elements | An interchangeable icon system.
Designing an icon system with interchangeable parts is an innovative approach that saves time and effort, enables customization, and enhances consistency and functionality across different platforms and applications. With mix-and-match components, designers can create new and unique icons easily, making the system adaptable to diverse contexts such as digital interfaces, branding, and print materials. Ultimately, this versatility encourages creativity, improves efficiency, and ensures a seamless user experience.
05
Imagery
Inclusivity and approachability | Using imagery to put customers at ease and to build trust.
When it comes to choosing brand imagery, it is crucial to consider diversity as a key element. A brand that displays a wide range of races, ethnicities, ages, and body types not only showcases inclusivity but also helps customers feel represented and included. This inclusivity instills a sense of ease in customers, fostering a strong connection with the brand. Additionally, a diverse brand imagery also builds trust among customers, as it demonstrates the brand's commitment to cater to a variety of individuals and their unique needs. By embracing diversity in brand imagery, companies can create a welcoming and trustworthy environment that resonates with their customers.
